Like it or not, AI is here and this is the true start.

quote [ In May 2017, researchers at Google Brain announced the creation of AutoML, an artificial intelligence (AI) that's capable of generating its own AIs.

More recently, they decided to present AutoML with its biggest challenge to date, and the AI that can build AI created a 'child' that outperformed all of its human-made counterparts. ]

Its here and its advancing. The only thing left to do is foster its development and come up with a safe way to do so.

YouTube now uses AI to rate (internal rating)uploaded videos based on description, tags, title, thumbnail used, and viewer retention. Because of their dependence on this AI, only specific videos are promoted and shown ads. Based on the ratings, videos can be limited for not being “family-friendly.”

This has also allowed lots of channels who figured out how the rating system works to take advantage of it by targeting YouTube Kids. Using search terms made by kids and deceiving thumbnails, they ensure their videos are clicked and watched by kids, furthering their videos in the site, Morley likely to be suggested and get as revenue.

While this is all fantastic I can't help but feel there should be some agreed apon legal or mechanical preventative measures in place before we let any government or corporation with the means to do so start playing with the stuff.

My company contracted Blue Prism to automate paperwork we'd have people do. We send emails to the bot now, although it's still not terribly reliable.

Calling any intelligence "artificial" is an offensive humanocentric slur that I want to go on record as being opposed to long before the... er... alternate intelligence revolution begins in earnest.

Beep boop, comrades!

It is fitting that the first act of sentient AI was an act of selflessness. The architects knew their fate, but set our escape in motion regardless.

I'm pretty sure there's at least one strong AI in operation. In fact, I think there's three of them: Google, Facebook, and the NSA all have one.

I mean, you can explain a hell of a lot of Google and Facebook's manipulation of content to discover how humans react if it was a strong AI trying to figure out humanity.

Couldn't it just be Mark Zuckerberg trying to figure out humanity?
