Point taken but to add some context; it was Gore's wife who had disparaged Snider and thrust herself in to the political debate. Cruz's wife was an innocent victim.

(And, if I recall corectly, it wasn't Gore who complained, it was someone else saying how dare you insult Al's wife rather than someone saying, how dare you insult Tipper.)
