quote [ The existing epidemiological research (both
culpability and case-control studies) have produced contradictory estimates of risk for marijuana use. Some of these studies have suggested that marijuana use has minimal or no effect on the likelihood of crash involvement, while others have estimated a small increase in the risk of crash involvement. ] The story has pot and DMV, my two favorite things.
This is both pretty dry geek stuff, and, like, bleeding edge law in the development stuff (because those are 2 different things). However, this is what "legalize and regulate" looks like.
I found the impairment graphs hugely interesting. As someone who has smoked and driven for a long, long time, it's really hard to argue with such observations as the report does make. It sure does effect reaction time. The less I drive in general, the less high I like to be when I do it. In general, the punchline is 'more and better data is needed, it has some effect that you want to look out for, but we cannot quantify it.'
