Okay: my mom, second generation japanese-american, made a good (in my opinion) italian spaghetti. Meatball, canned mushroom, tomato sauce, oregano, the works. But the SECOND night, she would toss the leftovers into a big frypan with sizzling oil and fry the shit out of it until it was crusty. Then, serve it on a bed of white rice and topped with soy sauce. Fabulous.
