Catholic Church: Women are to Blame for Pedophile Priests

quote [ According to Pope Francis's former competitor for the role of the Vatican's leader, Cardinal Raymond Burke, the rampant crisis of pedophile priests was brought on by women who "feminized" the church and discouraged "manly" men from participating in clerical life.

Serving mass is a "manly" job argues the Irish American Cardinal, as he claims that the participation of women and girls into the daily life of the church has a chilling effect on priests, causing them to turn to "immoral and unpriestly vocations" such as "abusing minors". ]

Nope - not the Onion. NSFW, because no one wants to have a "what's that you're reading there?" convo at work on this particular subject.

But it might as well be the Onion or the National Enquirer. While this article may or may not be true and accurate, the fact that right next to it are articles with headlines like,
"Study Proves that Unvaccinated Children are Healthier than Vaccinated Kids", and
"Recordings Reveal FBI Ordered Man To Carry Out Mass Shooting To 'Defend Islam'", and
"PANIC As NASA Issues Warning After Explosions Sighted On The Moon"
significantly detract from its credibility.

I agree with midden, but I will hold off on downmodding. If the report is accurate, which I need to look into... it shouldn't matter if the source is god awful.

Perhaps I should apply for a "-1 Unreliable Source" mod? "Troll" seemed like the closest option.
kylemcbitch said @ 9:29pm GMT on 6th Jul
Yeah, were that an option I'd use it in this case. For now, no downmod or upmod, since the report is factually accurate.

That said, please give me another source if you want my upmod.

Or maybe -0 Unreliable source?

Changing the link to a better source would be nice.

Burke's quotes come from a 2015 interview with an organization called "The New Emangelization":

Is that like Neon Genesis Evangelion?

If you mean "will this all end in blood and angst and the protagonist thinks it's the women's fault he hasn't gotten laid" than yes, yes it is.

Well fuck it, I'll upmod you if no one else will. Partly because the article is confirmably accurate and partly because I personally know Catholics who are very angry at all those little boys around the world who are obviously lying.
pleaides said @ 6:39am GMT on 7th Jul
Because nothing says 'manly' like hanging around boys while wearing a dress, and requiring people to kiss your ring.

Ooo and the special little golden perfume shaker, and the weekly book club meetings with wine and snacks where they all talk about this one guy who was just soo perfect, and the tiny little room just for secrets and gossip.

I used to go to a monthly book club meeting with wine and snacks. It was pretty great.
