The Corporate Contradictions of Neoliberalism

quote [ In particular, there can be a contradiction between a society’s economic ideology, or cultural system of economic legitimation, and its economic reality. I argue that we are experiencing this in an acute way under neoliberalism—a contradiction between the market ideology neoliberalism espouses and the corporate reality it fosters. ]

What I like about this essay is that it sticks to the actual, historical definition of Neoliberalism, not the blanket pejorative that some folks toss at moderate Democrats.
Helpful guide-
Rand Paul = Neoliberal (though his dad Ron is a purer example)
Hillary Clinton = New Democrat (not the same as Neoliberal, but the confusion is understandable)

Right, because Neoliberal economics with a thin slice of progressive lip service on top is totally not Neoliberalism, in the same way that a cheeseburger is totally not a hamburger.
