Forget about Impeachment...will anybody go to jail?

quote [ Shouldn’t Jared Kushner Be Arrested? ]

Michael Flynn has to either go to jail or has to hand over Trump on a silver platter.

No. Probably not.

Right now I think it could go either way...just was wondering what you all thought.

... I think you're a good person, but a little too invested in the perceived melodrama of all this. Trump is a piece of shit, but work from evidence, not adrenaline. Otherwise you're too easy to label as a kook and ignore.

I said Ignore Impeachment....and I think you don't have a clue of just how much shit we are in it has only been 134 days...and have no idea if you are a nice person....

And you are probably right nobody cares about this... Protests were underway Saturday in more than 135 cities in the U.S. and around the world to demand an impartial investigation into any potential collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russia to influence last year's election in Trump's favor.

see hardly anybody.

I have a few different replies going through my head, but really I think we're best chalking this down to a difference in personalities. I like your politics and ethics, even if I clearly have an issue with the delivery. I also mijudged a couple of things when writing that comment, and I apologise.

No problem.
You are not going to hurt my feelings. I come here for tough straight talk...be blunt, say what you mean. I do my best to make my comments non personal, even though it is not my nature. If you think something is full of shit don't be bashful I won't. If you think someday is lying call them a lying sack of shit..see now that borders on personal...but true is true.

I asked a question...then you tell me to work from evidence????

I don't know you may be the one person in the Western World and China who hasn't heard about any of this...maybe this will help.

Timeline: What we know about Trump’s campaign, Russia and the investigation of the two

Don't bother with the answer.

Mookie...Are you like Sane, thinking that Trump will cover it all with
pardons? Or that this will be a complete nothing burger...just a lot of smoke, no fire? Because from here I can see 2 maybe three people looking at jail time a 4 more including the president in a great gray area.

From Article 2, Section 2 of the US Constitution:
he (the President) shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

Pretty safe bet that as long as Kushner is Trump's son-in-law he's not gonna go to jail. If the walls start to close in I'd bet that Trump would pardon Flynn too. Don't forget that Ford pardoned Nixon for crimes he hadn't even yet been charged with.
So would this look incredibly, undeniably corrupt? Yeah, obviously.
Would Trump care? Based on what we've seen so far, nope. He'll do it and then he'll brag about doing it.
bbqkink said[1] @ 9:37pm GMT on 3rd Jun
OK... that makes sense. My first instinct was to say..He's not that...then I cut myself off mid sentence.
sanepride said @ 10:22pm GMT on 3rd Jun
Sounds like you're still thinking in terms of Nixon and the traditional ideas of presidential corruption and abuse of power. Clearly we've moved well beyond that, into a whole new realm. Nixon at least had the sensibility to know he was doing wrong and try to conceal it. Trump neither understands or cares, and neither does his party or his supporters.
bbqkink said[2] @ 10:27pm GMT on 3rd Jun
I guess this is more of a question about the Justice Department than Trump. I had truly forgotten about the power of the pardon...No mater how it turns out it will help in 2018 and 2020....but I still hope Jeff Sessions does at least one week in the slam.
