They did this at Great Exuma? LOL, I once stayed on that butt hole of an island for a year doing drug interdiction in the Army in the 80s. There is jack on that island. No fresh water, no large infrastructure, not even a on island flight taxi or charter boats. You have to fly yourself in and out by your own means. Nassau is about an hour away by small plane. On our down time we would fly to Nassau or the Navy's Autec navel base on Andros Island instead of sitting on our ass on that island. The snorkeling and eating sea food got old quick.

We spent our honeymoon at a Sandals resort on Great Exuma and it was fine, and just one of several resorts on the island. Outside of the resorts there wasn't a lot of development though, decaying half-built shacks.

The more I read up, the more it sounds like the majority of people that made it there were people who got early signup specials for $500. Would've been a heck of a deal if they didn't get completely screwed over.
