Clothing firm Nordstrom castigated for $425 mud-coated jeans

quote [ A US clothing company has been mocked on social media for selling a pair of $425 (£330; €390) jeans complete with "crackled, caked-on muddy coating". ]

If I had only known this in my 20s, I'd be rich!

Article said something about how Nordstrom also offered mom jeans with plastic windows for the knees recently. I thought, "That had to be an April Fool's joke."

Nope, they're real. And they are not spectacular.

I don't get it.

Those might be the worst pants I've ever seen. And yes, I've seen cargo pants with the zip off legs.

None of this makes sense. The store that sells them will have dirt all over the shelves, the floor and the counters. Whoever buys them will get dirt all over their house.

Not to mention the mud will come off the first time anyone washes them. Are these single use pants?

Why would you wear something more than once?

It's not real mud. It's a 'coating' on the fabric according to Nordstroms. It's paint, basically. It's painted to look like mud so you can look dirty without the hassle and unpleasantness of actual dirt.

Dirty is the new clean.
