"There is a lovely side to spiders, there’s not just a terrible, dangerous side.” They've found 1200 new animals in the last 4 years 201 are spiders.... amd it's Australia so most of them kill you and walk up glass or whatever.

Man, trapdoor spiders were just about the coolest thing we could find as a kid. The only problem was you were always a little bit suspicious that it was actually a funnel web acting chill for a bit, and was about to arc up and bite the shit out of you, as funnel webs are wont to do.

Mouse spiders were my other favorite. So irrestistably cute you just want to pick them up and pet them, but I had a mate that was fucked up really badly by one so I was never silly enough to give in to the urge.
