Why one Republican voted to kill privacy rules: “Nobody has to use the Internet”

quote [ US Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) was hosting a town hall meeting when a constituent asked about the decision to eliminate privacy rules. ]

I'm guessing Rep. Sensenbrenner still uses Encyclopedia Britannica and buys porn at the newsstand.

No one has to use an offshore tax haven bank account.

He sounds like a typically conservative asshole. From Wikipedia: "In December 2011, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sensenbrenner referred to First Lady Michelle Obama's "big butt" while talking to church members at a Christmas bazaar at St. Aidan's church in Hartford." So that's what they talk about at church.

It's the best place! You can repent immediately.

And people say bureaucracy is inefficient!

Do they even still have porn at the news stand?

Yes. There's a small niche of stuff that isn't any more explicit than mainstream porn, but has a weird fetish element that people don't want on their browser history. Also, old people.

Makes sense. Though it is amusing to think of fairly tame, mainstream porn thirty years ago as being a bit of a kinky fetish for the old now.
