Steve King’s Flagrant Racism Almost Makes You Forget He Sucks at His Job

quote [ Iowans! Steve King is a failed legislator who is out here dragging your good name. Please don't vote for this dingus anymore. ]

The Des Moines Register lambasts Republicans for continuing to support this vile fucker, even as they disavow his comments.

Disambiguation:
Steve King, Republican Congressman from Iowa,
NOT Stephen King, prolific author from Maine.

King has been winning elections for twenty years, and they're not close elections. He wins with 60%+ consistently. Iowa isn't a southern state, but his district votes as if they are.

As the Des Moines Register op-ed points out, he always enjoys the full support of the GOP party machine. If the party finally says 'enough already' and supports a reasonable primary challenger, maybe his electoral fortunes would change.
But for some reason, the mainstream Republican party still continues to back this racist jerkhole. Go figure.

Racism has been legitimized by calling it "nationalism," and is now a fundamental part of the GOP base. I don't see them letting go of it anytime soon since it is in fact what mostly propelled agent orange into the white house.

Which is exactly why a veteran congressman like Steve King can go and spout this shit with no fear of real consequence or serious admonishment from his colleagues.

Steve King's primary constituents are conservative farmers, and are straightforward one issue voters. If it's not about the inheritance tax, the farm bill, or the DNR and water quality, they don't give a shit.

What do you think it is in this case?

You want to defend Steve King? Go ahead, be my guest.

I think what Mr. Albert Fish is saying is that Steve King is worried about white people becoming a racial minority in a non-racial way. Also, those darn blacks & hispanics are going to kill eachother off, so whites don't need to worry after all, and he means that in the least racist way possible.

If I were more racist, I would agree.
