I wonder if they will cover the Kessel Run...

Wait, who's the blonde? It's definitely not Nien Nunb.

Ms. Nunb suffered terrible facial lacerations during the run.

He doesn't ooze the smarmy sexuality that Ford did.

Yep. Pretty bland. Better stay safe! He probably won't shoot anything first either. Gotta protect the young minds. Because look how fucked up we all are from growing up with the originals (un-"edited"). Better not make that mistake again.

Why can't everyone be played by Chris Pratt? Or at least all of Harrison Ford's roles...

Chris Pratt would have been a perfect choice. He practically is Ford reborn, in the sense that he exudes sexy charm in almost any role. And we already know he could do it -- Star Lord is essentially Han Solo but with superhero shenanigans.

I fully expect this to suck. The fan-service demands alone will probably be enough to preclude any likelihood of good storytelling even before the usual toy-marketing effect seeps in to the writing, filming and production decisions. Certain elements will just HAVE to be included to ensure that this film doesn't irreparably destroy anyone's childhood.
For all its flaws Rogue One may be as close as we ever get again to a good Star Wars film; and for the simple reason that it was not so closely tied to the core trilogies. |
