White House press secretary attacks media for accurately reporting inauguration crowds

quote [ "That's what you guys should be writing and covering," new White House press secretary Sean Spicer angrily lectured reporters on Saturday during his first remarks from the podium of the press briefing room.
He was referring to the delay in Senate confirmation for President Donald Trump's pick to lead the CIA, Congressman Mike Pompeo, but the comment came after a long digression about how many people had shown up to watch Trump be sworn in as president. ]

I marched with my mother and gf in D.C. today, so I didn't see this live. Then to come home high on hope for the future of my country, and the world and to see this level of delusion...I just don't understand.

Wife and I marched with thousands today in Santa Fe, NM. Amazing crowd, gave us a little hope for the future.

The left consistently has the most creative protest signage, incorporating serious issues and humor. The right, rarely any humor and pretty standard boilerplate verbiage. Sad!

Sure, but it's a great way to distract attention from the golden showers though hey? I mean, just looking at how easy it is for Trump's guys to get the media running blanket coverage on a topic as inconsequential and safe as attendance numbers ... it does not bode well for the future.

This shit is infuriating. Which I'm guessing was the point, because I was so shocked and offended by the nonsense this asshole was spewing, I almost missed the fact that no questions from the press were taken. This wasn't a press conference, it was a propaganda session.

Maybe once the impeachment gets underway, we can offer Trump a plea-bargain to turn States Evidence on Pence.

Yes, it would then fall to the order of succession, but looking at them I can't see any of these people lasting more than 5 minutes before they run afoul of the Constitution as well.

This will be the cross they nail him to. Everything will now be questionable because we don't know.

Day one.

But while President Donald Trump's hotel in Washington did serve as a hub of Friday's inaugural activities, it also stands as ground zero for what top Democrats and some ethics advisers see as his unique web of conflicts of interest.

And is beginning to appear that the media has found a line Trump can't cross. The all out attack on them.

Since it has to be shorthand, "anime Nazis" has become a dismissive term for the current crop of White Nationalists, referring to the basement-dwelling trolls that constantly spout racist pro-Trump-isms and so on. The point about women's rights in Muslim countries is about how a lot of conservatives have been trying to diminish these marches and feminism as a whole by saying things like "feminists have nothing to complain about, just look at what women go through under Islam" and so on.

I'm curious as to how any large maches get arranged, co-ordinated, supported.
I've put on events with just a few thousand attendees, sometimes onky hundreds, and you need to have in place public health, traffic, sanitation, transport, marshalling, press etc before you'll get the go-ahead, let alone any actual support, or gaurantee that you'll not be met with hostile opposition - who themselves have had to jump through the same considerations - whether that be "status maintainers" or just those who don't like somethong about you or your viewpoint.

And it costs loads of money - up front.

We know where a lot of the money came from in the recent election campaign - who is putting their hand in their pockets now? Did all the attendees really go a whole day without going to the toilet, eat for free, park somewhere without charge?

Who greased who's palm?

Obviously when we get to the pre-catastrophic situations seen across Continental Africa in recent years these things aren't going to apply - but I don't think we're quite there yet - people can still co home to their houses, and in many cases, jobs and families.

I am suspicious of mass demonstrations - whatever the cause there's usually a conductor and enabler.
buzhidao said @ 12:44pm GMT on 22nd Jan
all of this is just a guess - and i hear where you're coming from - but i suspect some of the organization for the march was guided by occupy folks. gonna bet michael moore worked it to get funding. plus the march took donations via its website. i threw in a bit.
some of the smithsonian bldgs were open for bathroom use. and portapotties were probably already on site from the day before. and i bet there were food trucks? there were some at the local march here.
how so many people could get away from job/home responsibilities to go down to dc is what surprised me. i wouldnt be able to swing that.

You made me wonder whatever happened to him, so I tried looking it up. The most recent references to Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf were mostly people comparing others to him they wanted to accuse of lying.

His Wikipedia page ends with:

On November 7, 2014, Swedish newspaper Expressen posted a video of an ill Al-Sahhaf in a hospital bed in the United Arab Emirates, claiming that he was dying.

I don't see any activity after that so..? Is he an ex-Bob?
