Yellow is the New Orange

quote [ @realDonaldTrump

Trump would like his inauguration to be about "soft sensuality." With reports in that he likes golden showers, I can only recoil in horror as to what that might imply for the crowds gathered that day.

Edit: 4chan's /pol/ is attempting to take credit for the story. It's possible, but take it with a grain of salt as they have been claiming this for multiple bad press stories for Trump. Also, take this story with as much of a grain of salt as well, obviously.

What it's allowed for as well is an air of false equivalency. I saw an image from someone "tired" of all the nastiness and used as an illustration two heads yelling at each other. The one labeled "THE LEFT" was yelling "RACIST!" while the one labeled "THE RIGHT" was yelling "CUCK!"

The two aren't remotely equivalent. Racism is a huge-ass problem and is going to be for a very long time. There are racists, and they support the right wing of this country. Being able to dismiss it as mere "name calling" is probably a goal of de-legitimizing everything.

Racism is a problem, it's true. One of the biggest ones we have, but the way it's presented by.. well, these hip, liberal, clickbait news sites we have has really fucked us over and fanned the flame of this bullshit.

It's almost impossible to meet the standards they set, and failure means being called sexist and racist. Surprise, surprise... when you call everyone sexist and racist you encourage the actual sexist and racists to come out of the wood work.

The best example I have for this is MTV News recent disaster "New Years Resolutions for White Guys."

Identity politics is poison.

The sensationalism of alleged golden showers aside, if any of this report is substantiated it's a huge bombshell confirming an unparalleled web of duplicity between Trump and Russia. Which in the world of Trump, his followers, and congressional republicans translates to 'nothing to see here, move along, and oh yeah, we're still obsessed with Hillary's emails'.
Meanwhile, for anyone who does think this is a big deal (think Watergate meets 'Manchurian Candidate'), Buzzfeed has posted the entire dossier for everyone's perusal.
To their credit they're very forthcoming about the fact that the allegations within remain unsubstantiated and unverified, which is more than we can say for the assholes who claimed that Hillary Clinton was running a child sex slave ring.

Looks pretty legit to me. British ex-MI guy doing consultancy work for Clinton oppo, hooks up with all his contacts, gets the lowdown off-the-record. It all meshes pretty cleanly with what is already known or previously hinted at.

Which is to say: Wow. Forget the prostitutes and bugged hotel rooms - the Russians do that to everyone. The main story here is that the whole Trump administration practically has "vetted by Putin" tattooed on their foreheads.
HP Lovekraftwerk said @ 1:39pm GMT on 11th Jan

sanepride said @ 2:03pm GMT on 11th Jan
I don't think Putin/Russia would consider a destabilized US as in their best interest, just a US led by someone they could manipulate, regardless of party affiliation. Trump, with his temperament, business ties, and even possible blackmail potential, would be their golden wet dream.
Kama-Kiri said @ 11:44pm GMT on 11th Jan
Taking the report contents into this, it looks like it started out a opportunistic way to get back at the US for the sanctions etc. It was actively supporting Trump, but not on the specific expectation that he would win.

I thought it was interesting that Putin's people were divided on the idea, quite a few thinking it was a bad idea ... since, well, since what has happened might happen.

kylemcbitch said @ 1:58pm GMT on 11th Jan
4chan is bigger than that. In this case, if you mean /pol/ then yes, /pol/ absolutely in camp Trump for the most part.

They are claiming that they planted the story, and have been claiming to have planted various stories since last October/November. The story goes they supplied a story to Rick Wilson who in turn gave it to the CIA. There are several problems with this narrative, the first being the fact that /pol/ has been inconsistent to say the least. Yes, you will find logs talking about trolling Rick Wilson back in October and November stating that he was going to supply a bonus October surprise directed at Trump that they arranged.

The issue with this, of course, is that they have claimed several news reports are this bogus leak since that initial claim. So, until OP stops being a faggot and published the transcripts I wouldn't believe it.

The other issue of course that Rick Wilson was not the source of this.
HP Lovekraftwerk said @ 4:26pm GMT on 11th Jan
Yes, I mean /pol/.

If they're all for Trump, how does this "October Surprise" benefit their cause? If it's fake and they did plant it, there are many who will never believe it was fake, which hurts Trump. If it's real and they're trying to paint it as fake, then they get the same result along with even more people convinced Trump is awful.

This is really bad spin on their part.
kylemcbitch said @ 5:19pm GMT on 11th Jan
Actually, I follow their logic here.

Plant a fake story, people get outraged, then "lol, trolled ya!"

Then, even if a bunch of people believe you now have a in-built excuse for all future negative reports. "Those people will believe anything!"

Which is directed at the REAL target: swing voters. We believe these things about Trump because we want to. They don't, and if you can brush away criticism by brushing away the critics, you win.

I hate to recommend it, but you should read Joseph Goebbels. Clearly they have, because this is his playbook.
HP Lovekraftwerk said @ 6:30pm GMT on 11th Jan
Oh, I'm well aware. The flaw is that we've seen this both work and backfire. We're also already in a climate of echo chambers and politics = religion so fuck facts, which you'd think they would've cottoned onto by now.

Also, saying "ha, trolled ya" damages their own credibility, which they (surprisingly) still have in some quarters.
kylemcbitch said @ 7:15pm GMT on 11th Jan
Their credibility doesn't matter, they are easily deniable assets, because let's face it... they aren't coordinating this with anyone.

I agree, it does backfire fairly often. But I wouldn't be surprised that if this was finally the fake story they claim they planted, that it's literally just the pee thing they faked and everything else is real... at which point you will see them poison the whole well and none of it sticks to the Donald.
