Akiba: Shenzhen in 30 Minutes

quote [ How to navigate Shenzhen's sourcing and manufacturing wonderland

Multi-talented hacker extraordinaire and electrical engineer [Akiba] is based in Japan, and this makes it just a hop, skip, and a jump over to Shenzhen, China, the hardware capital of the world. He’s led a number of manufacturing tours aimed at acquainting hackers with the resources there, and now he’s giving you the benefit of his experience in a 30-minute video. It’s great. ]

A bit over 30 minutes slideshow/talk
If you need hardware for a startup project, or if you just like the idea of buying resistors by the drum, you'll find this interesting and informative.

I've recently been toying with the idea of putting an ad on Shenzhen's craigslist to find someone that would be willing to buy me the occasional used phone or part or something and ship it over for cheaper than the online suppliers. I really need a samsung note 5, but thanks to the exploding note 7, the price of used note 5's haven't really dropped.
