Leaked Amazon memo warns the company is running out of people to hire

quote [ In a company survey of 31,000 workers who left Amazon that was referenced in the report, some former Amazon workers say it’s worse to work at Amazon than some big-name competitors like Walmart or FedEx. ]

Bit more of a management nudge but insightful nonetheless.

There's a number of modern businesses that operate this way.

Uber burns out their drivers. They eventually run out of people that are desperate/gullible/willing enough to depreciate their car and play self-employment tax to drive.

AirBNB burns out guests. They side with the hosts, offer an experience that's often more expensive and worse than a hotel, and burn their guests.

The problem is, it works until it doesn't, but it takes a long time to become a problem, and these companies can just shape up and continue with a bit less profit.

And that’s why I try to have as little to do with Amazon as I can.

"The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots. And as you go forth today remember always your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots."

No. We don't need cities or armies. We have the cells of human bodies
