11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11

I feel like people's obsession with Trump from 2016-200 really made them forget just how batshit insane the post 9-11 Bush years were. So here's a couple of twitter threads taking a walk down memory lane.

grimm on Twitter

“Post 9/11 thread for people to post the wildest shit they remember from 01 to 06 I'll start: People thought Osama had an entire mountain hollowed out that he was using as his base and that's why AQ was hard to find and that somehow a group of like 30 dudes arranged this.”

Dwight Rhinosoros on Twitter

“For the Zoomers, you wouldn't believe the weird, inexplicable things that Boomers did and said in reaction to 9/11.”

2031: President Trump might be remembered now as an amusing glitch, given subsequent events, but in the previous decade people thought that he was worst things could get

Yes. You are not alone. Dumpster was an aberration. We will never comprehend how that asshole came to power. Shrub boy is feeling good these days, but he's just a much an asshole as the rest.

"After telling people that the US could topple any moment, at the height of our fears and more fragile than ever, the president choked on a pretzel while eating alone and passed out."

I posted this when it happened on oldSE!

lol, yeah. While consolidating a bunch of old hard drives a few months back, I found a joke screenshot I took of an order for pretzels I had addressed to the whitehouse.

"It turned out years later that the intelligence reports used by both the UK and US to invade Iraq were not only bogus, but many of them were sources literally just explaining a scene from the hit movie The Rock and pretending they were real."

That one is a personal favorite of something I learned from this.
