Mind reading is a bit of a stretch, but this looks to be using the NextMind which is a basic BCI that monitors your occipital lobe for specific visual patterns in order to detect what you're looking at. It made the rounds on a number of VR youtube channels in the past year or so. I put some in the extended. Pretty cool, but not the advanced frontal lobe stuff I'm interested in. This looks to be a good usage for it as it seems geared for UI.
