quote [ The plan to pick up a Kubrick effort would arrive as an opportunity to fill missed chances after Gilliam was lined up to create a sequel to Dr. Strangelove titled Son of Strangelove in 1995 but Kubrick’s death put an end to plans. “I never knew about [the project] until after [Kubrick] died but I would have loved to,” Gilliam once commented. ]
Superlofty, but why not revel in thoughts?

This article is weird. "I was going to make sure, but then did. And now I'm going to maybe make something else, but maybe not. World is a weird place!"
Also please please please don't make a sequel to Dr. Strangelove. What is wrong with people. |

Yeah, that 2001 sequel pretty much proves your point.

I couldn't imagine Stanley Kubrick doing sequels, mainly because I don't think there'd be many actors who'd work with him twice.
If there was anyone to expand on his worlds tho, Gilliam would be my pick. The right mixture of love for the source material, irreverance, and own innate originality, without slavish devotion. |
