For the Lulz

quote [ It Came from Something Awful: How a Toxic Troll Army Accidentally Memed Donald Trump Into Office

The story of 4chan is often treated as a sort of grotesque sideshow to the growing populism of recent politics, but Beran’s book shows how central it was to the changes that have taken place as Internet natives reshape political discourse. ]

Being a book review with personal anecdotes, this ends up painfully coherent. In case you were still missing some parts of this story.

I was there too.

This is an utterly corrupt rewrite of history.

I was too. This seems accurate in just about every way.

Where do you see changes?

They didn't provide a lot of convincing evidence, but it's one take I suppose. I felt like this guy is a bit too old or a bit too young to have really taken it all in.

I looked it up, the writer is like 50 years old and when I read the article I feel like his take was a bit off, but that said, his interests and history is generally very interesting (But I doubt this is his best work)

I was paying close attention around that time, I genuinely felt that his portrayal was both clear and concise. HOWEVER, my brain likely just filled in the gaps with my own information.

For example, I really doubt that 4chan elected Trump. I believe that they were at least 20% of his base, however after seeing what has happened over these last few years, The problem is significantly larger than /pol/. The squeakiest wheel gets the grease so it seems like /pol/ was the root, I just can't believe that with the 24hr news cycle constantly talking about him.

It was the illuminati. They revealed their future plans through the Simpsons. Big Brother has brainwashed you into thinking that the Simpsons is not the manifesto for the New World Order. Remember the episode where Homer becomes the head of the old folks home and murders Grandpa with poisoned vaccinations? Wake up!
