Man stole $122m from Facebook and Google by sending them random bills, which the companies dutifully paid

They are. This guy is smart, but he got greedy. If he had quit sooner, he might have gotten away with it.

The made the classic mistake. Instead of concentrating on his plot, he spent all his time dressed as a ghost clown to scare people away from the old abandoned fairground.
