EBay Has Unexpected, Chilling Effect On Looting Of Antiquities, Archaelogist Finds

quote [ In addition to linking craftsmen with a market for cheap fakes, eBay has tended to have a depressing effect on prices for real looted artifacts, further discouraging locals from pillaging precious sites. ]

Yeah, well, the mummified hand of Jesus that I bought on eBay for $20 with free shipping is genuine, so your study is invalid, archeolojerks!

Mind you, for a really quick sale, you can't beat a nose.

Jesus and his disciples got up to some weird stuff, but I don't recall a fruit fetish other than that time the fig tree S&M session went wrong.

All it did was put actual looting of antiquities to the dark web. Hobby Lobby being one of them.

Is that true though. The article's point is that the market has become flooded with so many high quality fakes that even off ebay buyers have become skittish.

I couldn't help but notice that if you replaced EBay with online newspapers and antiques with journalism, the article doesn't really change all that much.
