[Score:1 Underrated]
Same thing happened to mp3.com. There were some really great bands there and when they deleted all their stuff I found myself unable to find their music anymore. Well, actually, I found just one band out of perhaps the 20 I really liked, but still, I think it was a great loss and a great disservice to people, not to mention lack of judgement.

Back in early 2006, I put up a Myspace music fan page for Peter Paul Pigmans, better known as Dutch Gabber music producer 3 Steps Ahead, as he had passed away a couple years earlier and I wanted to extend the reach of his relatively unknown music with American audiences. It quickly racked up 1500 or so fans and I was getting inundated with messages from people not realizing he was dead asking me to play their show/venue/festival. I reached out to his widow about getting the official okay to be hosting some of his music on the page, but she never responded. I think I stopped maintaining it in 2009, around the time I migrated to Facebook.

it might be a publicity thing so people might, you know, think MySpace still exists.
