Chase is one of the many cats I follow on Facebook (laugh all you want, my timeline is cuter than yours). They been trying to re-dub her as "Chase Heart-Face" and it is definitely not catching on.

I shouldn't laugh but that is hilarious. Poor lil kitty.

Cat looks a little like a vampire bat.

AWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her. She reminds me of my last cat, Tiya. I rescued her from a pet store as a 21st b-day present to myself:

But how many feral chickens has she killed? And when will Hawaii make those the state bird?

That pic was taken in Seattle some years ago by an ex-girlfriend whom I gave Tiya to when I went off hitchhiking around the world. The last time I saw her was in 2011. Ex had to give her away last year when she had a baby and Tiya didn't care for the competition. If she's still alive today she'd be going on 14 years of age.

If I ever can find a place to rent that allows pets, I would like to raise another cat. It hasn't been an option for me in quite some time. I only got off the road permanently in 2015 and, until recently, landlords were not allowed to charge an additional pet deposit on rentals. I haven't been in a long term stable housing situation yet, so I won't do any animal the disservice of being unable to properly shelter it for the duration of caring for it.

There is such a mod but it's only for us hoity-toity subscribers, apparently. This is also sad, so have one on me.

She was well taken care of. She had outgrown her cage the pet store had her in by the time I found her. I was just leaving Portland, where I lived, to visit my hometown for my b-day, and I promised myself if she was still there when I returned that she was coming home with me. I named her Tiya, which is the Hindi word for parrot, because she loved to perch on my shoulder as a kitten. I built her this massive, 3-story playhouse out of cardboard that she loved. She enjoyed hiding in things because the early imprinting inside the pet store cage gave her agoraphobia. She was ok with windows but would run from the front door when opened. Indoor for most of her life, but as the photo attests she began venturing out into my ex's veggie garden in her later years.

I wait eagerly for the moment I can adopt another animal. I sometimes walk over to the humane center and pet every dog and cat that will allow me to. That will have to suffice for now.
