WWF, The Beloved Wildlife Charity, Funds Guards Who Have Tortured and Killed People

quote [ WWF operated like a “global spymaster”, organising, financing and running networks of “informants”, to provide park authorities with intelligence, while publicly denying working with informants ]

accused of turning a blind eye to tortured, killed and sexually assaulted indigenous people victimized by people on their payroll.
Survival international has been stonewalling the new Messok Dja National Park due to concerns over the Baka people losing land. This is not going to be good for that process.

I know I realized that Greenpeace was garbage when they attacked fields growing golden rice. What pro environmental groups are there that aren’t shady at this point?

Wow, a flamebait mod because I don't like Greenpeace? Sorry, they're not in PETA levels of crazy, but they don't stand for everything they should. Golden rice was created to solve a real problem of people dying from lack of beta carotene. Anti GMO terrorist firebombing laboratory farms because they're scared of it is not something to be proud of. This isn't roundup ready crops, this is adding vitamins to crops where malnutrition exists. This isn't profit driven genetic engineering, it's science trying to make the world better. Go fuck your phobias.

What difference does it make if they're indigenous, and what does that even mean in Africa?

How exactly did people think they were protecting the crazy valuable endangered wildlife from the desperately poor people right next to them?

Observations on the State of Indigenous Human Rights in Cameroon
Indigenous is used in the Congo constitution but is not defined, and use at a local level can very across the country. It is understood to primarily refer to the Baka, Bakola, Bagyeli, and Bedzang, but not Mbororo. Pygmy is a separate term that further complicates this. “Marginal populations” is not a perfect umbrella term but it is one of the better ones. The absence of an institutional definition of the concept of Indigenous Peoples is a major issue, considering it is
used for government directives and laws.

WWF has been arguing money form local park tourism can offset short term money from poaching. At the same time they have been arguing that aboriginal people will benefit from parks on their land as it will strengthen and conserve the ecosystem in the larger area.

However they have overlooked the racism in this area between the groups they have been funding and other local community, and overlooking violence. Their Advocating against Land Rights seemed particularly concerning because they are targeting groups who's benefactors have been ineffective due to wwfs image.

Or at least thats my understanding as an outsider after reading on it. I would like more opinions from experts on this if anyone has them.
