My buddy in Portland messaged me about this yesterday, and (lucky me) I now have some weekend work going on with several of my colos that got jacked up by this.

Visiting the family in Idaho for the holidays and we were without Internet for about 30 hours. Had to amuse ourselves with conversation and satellite TV. It was horrifying.
That timeline is off, the outage (at least here) began around 4am EST on Thursday morning. I was up late Wednesday and lost internet about 1:50am local time (MST). |

No internet outage here in Pierce co. WA with Centurylink, but I did get auto phone messages telling me 911 was down and giving me some 10-digit local number to call instead, which I promptly forgot.

Yeah Portland's 911 was fine (as far as I know) but since we're on the border with WA who was affected I got blasted with emergency notifications through the night. Four by the end, though I think one was because my phone rebooted and sent the same one. I think there's not only a loud alarm for that but an extra-strong vibrate; had my phone on my bed (youtube before falling asleep) and my first thought was earthquake..

They said the issues were addressed by noon on Friday, but, there are still areas in Colorado that were just getting fixed this afternoon.
