Major Catholic magazine rescinds endorsement of Kavanaugh over sexual assault allegations

quote [ Brett Kavanaugh cites his Jesuit education to defend his integrity. Now a Jesuit magazine (America Magazine: Lilmookie's note) has disavowed his nomination. ]

. “For the good of the country and the future credibility of the Supreme Court in a world that is finally learning to take reports of harassment, assault and abuse seriously,” the editors concluded, “it is time to find a nominee whose confirmation will not repudiate that lesson.”

The American Bar Association has withdrawn their endorsement, the dean of Yale law has called for an investigation, Kavanaugh's law professor who testified on his behalf has withdrawn his endorsement, the governor and lieutenant governor of Alaska have come out against him (along with the Republican governors of four other states), and the ACLU has weighed in against him (which, believe it or not, they make a point of not doing). If he is confirmed, it will be over a level of objection I don't think any nominee has ever faced before. Not that the GOP will care, because it isn't a Grand Old Party unless there's some gang rape.

As much as I shit talk organized religion, I also like to give them a golf clap when they (try to) do good.

This openly partisan liar needs also to serial rape for their endorsement to be shifted to another, all while religious organizations should be staying out of politics entirely.

I suppose its an improvement from "needs to serial rape to get their endorsement."

If I were a Democrat still unhappy about the treatment of Merrick Garland, I might find Mitch McConnell's denunciation of the "endless delay and obstruction" of Brett Kavanaugh, whose nomination was announced less than three months ago, a bit much.

GOP senator on some Dem colleagues: ‘I’m not sure they have a soul’

Kennedy replied:

“I think there are some Democrats [acting] in good faith, but I think some of their colleagues, it isn’t about searching for the truth, it’s about winning, – just win, baby, win.

“It doesn’t matter who gets destroyed. And these are people – I’m not going to name names – but I’m not sure they have a soul. I don’t think their mother breast-fed them, I think they went right to raw meat.”
