What A Surprise. Eleven Old White Guys Will Be Christine Blasey Ford's Interrogators.

quote [ Ford will face questions from the 11 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, all of them men, with an average age of 62. (The chairman, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the second-oldest sitting senator, is 85.) In the committee’s 202-year history, it has not had a single Republican woman. Four of the 10 Democrats are women, including ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who is a few months older than Grassley. The committee has never been chaired by a woman. ]

And of course they are refusing to allow other witnesses. They want to turn it into a he said/she said, where they can pretend that they listened to a woman before just believing the man and pencil whipping it through anyhow.

What has happened to the belief that you are innocent until proven guilty? It is incumbent on the accuser to prove that the accused is guilty, not the other way around. What we have here is a classic case of "he said, she said". There is a witness to the supposed events but he has already sent a letter sayin he has no idea what she is talking about.

A man is not guilty just because a woman says he is. I do not care what it is about.

"Innocent until proven guilty" is true for criminal courtroom prosecutions. That's not what this is. This is a man asking for the privilege of the most prestigious lifetime appointment in the country. And part of that is that he has to prove he deserves the trust of the American people. There is no "innocent until proven guilty." There is only "prove you are the best of us, and thus worthy of a lifetime position of judgment over all of us."
