I've seen the 3D printed STL file for one of these, I'd go insane trying to replicate that.

Thinking of the required accuracy I strongly doubt that this would work (assuming the same scale as the original). Especially as many old mechanic calculator designs failed due to the accuracy of the parts not being sufficient at their time. Would be cool, though :-)

Like Adam's version made by his friend its a very large scale version made with a FDM printer. If you were to use an SLA printer you can print parts down to .01 microns in accuracy. Currently I do not have 4000 bucks for an entry level SLA machine. They are a toxic hazard and the prints need a lot of post cleaning. Really nasty stuff but the detail and accuracy is amazing.
