quote [ Republicans should probably stop going to restaurants: This past weekend, a crowd of protesters chased Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, out of a restaurant in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. McConnell and two other men were leaving Bristol Bar & Grille in downtown Louisville after lunch when a group of angry constituents began shouting, “Vote you out!” and “Go home!” ]
Had this happened in San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland it would be a standard "ho-hum liberal weenies, blah-blah-blah..." deal by the media, but the fact that it was in his own home town, by his constituents, should tell us that Americans seems to have crossed a marker and are really fed up.

Considering the government is made up of the people how about we compromise on mutual respect and avoid fear on both 'sides'. :)

Call tin foil hat all you want, but I'm growing increasingly suspicious of these incidents.

Can you name any demographic that contributes to atleast 5% of the population that doesn't have violent outliers in it?

Who said anything about "violent"?
Don't get sucked in. There is no violence inherent in assemblage and petitioning the government. There have been no incidents of violence, nor calls for such from anyone with prominence or influence. The commenter introduced the dog whistles of "thuggery", "target", and "intimidation". But can you find any moment of protesting that you would feel comfortable describing thusly? At present, it's more a question for Miss Manners than for the people interested in the survival of our nation. |

My point was more that he was humans in general are trash in large enough numbers no group that large should be expected to have a perfect membership; but they should be judged on how they respond to the actions of there own. I didn't really expand on this because it makes me sad to see numbers ignore the intent of comments to score points so often.

Oh, yeah, yeah, I totally get that. And I hope you didn't feel attacked by my comment. And it is sad how lazy number's trolling is. But most people are, in fact, not trash. They have trashiness in them somewhere, sure. But like a statistical Diogenes you looked for the outlier of trashiness.
Lazy and obvious as it is, "numbers" can still rile some people. But more people voted against "numbers". So what's the point of playing "numbers" game? You said it, "numbers ignore the intent of comments to score points so often". Notably, you still don't have an answer to your question. Take heart. There's more good than bad, and more of "us" than "them". Numeros non carborundum! |
