quote [ Microsoft has announced the Xbox Adaptive Controller, an Xbox controller designed for people with disabilities... It has two large programmable buttons and 19 jacks that can be connected to a range of joysticks, buttons, and switches to make it easier for a wider range of people to play games on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. ]
Looks like good progress for inclusive gaming, as well as other kinds of computing. Not available yet, but soon.

I was in a coma 5 years ago. When I came to and started being able to move my arms again, my dad brought into the hospital my Xbox 360 and tv on a rolling cart, only to discover I was too weak and uncoordinated to play it. Took me 3 weeks to get to a point where I could play for about 20 minutes before needing a rest from fatigue.
The game I was playing to learn my dexterity and strength again? Dark Souls. Fuckin "git gud" indeed. |

All that to say, when I saw the adaptive controller I fucking wept because it means others who are suffering mobility disabilities will now have a chance to escape the hell of hospitals into exciting new worlds. Seriously, fucking wept.
