How To Make A Wrestler Mad

quote [ Wrestling is a sport that you either know a lot about, or you know nothing. But even if you know nothing, you should still know about the Montreal Screwjob. ]

I probably posted this earlier, but, I used to party with a lot of the old school WWF crew. They like to hit it hard after the matches at the sports arena and always headed over to Mony's after they were done performing. Good times...

Any particulars? :)

Yeah - Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the Iron Sheik (Ali Vaziri) , Hillbilly Jim Morris, and Bob Remus (Sgt Slaughter). They were a pretty tight group, and loved to party with each other.

I cannot remember where- I want to say Grantland, Bill Simmons' now defunct long-form sports and culture journalism site- but lurking on the internet is a giant and highly detailed article on The Montreal Screwjob, including everything that happened leading into it and after. The above piece basically provides a semi-informative intro into the subject; there are articles that break the entire thing down, include what happened back stage- like Hart's wife laying the fuck into Michaels and Triple H, while they stand there shame-faced like they're being read the riot act by their mothers. IIRC, I believe it was also inadvertently covered (the author was shooting footage for a completely different reason, and happened to be filming that night) in a well-known and fascinating documentary about the darker side of wrestling, which includes pieces on Mick Foley and Jake "The Snake" Roberts, although I cannot remember the title, and I'm not a wrestling fan, and cannot be bothered to go looking (although someone here will definitely know the name of the doc).

The doc you're mentioning is "Beyond the Mat", but the Screwjob itself was covered in "Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows". Both are exceptionally well made films.

Yes, I'm a huge wrestling nerd.
