Oh, and they tacked on some new tax which applied retroactively, in January, for about $500. I'm still not sure exactly what fucking benefit I got from jumping through all those hoops, except maybe I'd have some insulation if things went pear-shaped and I got sued.

Taxes and fees in California suck. If you are based in LA there is an additional fee.
