Now we’ll be able to tell what they’re up to.

What a godawful font to try to read.

Braille is not that hard to read by eye if you want to. It's just a one for one alphabet exchange. Each letter or punctuation mark has a direct analogue. It's not like learning a new language with new sounds or grammar rules. Just different symbols for the alphabet.

The problems arises with all the abbreviations and contractions. Single letters to represent common words. It's like shorthand. And also the ubiquitousness of screens to convey information. A metal plate reading 'gents', 'exit' or 'zebra crossing' is useful, but until people can feel a changing mobile phone screen and braille becomes more widespread being able to read braille is useless.

But you first need to learn how read Braille, and with this font, you can do it right off the bat, no matter how godawful it might look like.

Easiest way to learn is probably still playing around with Perky Duck

There isn't really much reason to learn it There isn't enough braille around to make it useful to a sighted person, and the blind don't need texts translated by humans. Any digital text can be turned into dots by a computer program and printed out, super easy. The only reason I bothered was I was considering teaching primary school children, and wanted to be able to help special needs kids.

My partner favours the Brailleseerian wax, it's a big help in the dark.
