If they really want to delve deep into this, Twitter data can show when you logged in, which IP address was used, and what device to post a tweet. Cross reference that with any communications between him and the lawyer and you can guarantee they were nowhere near or in communication with each other.

It was done while he was in transit...not at all sure where the lawyer was at that time...but it safe to say that the lawyer wasn't with him and is now saying, "although I constructed these tweets I didn't send them"... sure you did.
