TL;DR - executive order amending GWB's E.O. 13223 which adds retired members of the military to the list of those that may be ordered back to active duty.

OPLAN 5027 requires people who were trained for something other than desert; They have to go back a ways to find 'em.

Well - that didn't take long. The E.O. was amended in the morning, the AF is getting ready to recall 1000 fighter pilots in the afternoon.
"We anticipate that the Secretary of Defense will delegate the authority to the Secretary of the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots for up to three years," Navy Cdr. Gary Ross, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statemement. |

If you want to stay retired, resign your commission. So many professionals cried when they lost their businesses and wealth being called back in to serve.

So this is prepping for an option to call up significant reserve and retired servicepeople to be redeployed to... Somewhere. Guesses? North Korea? Syria? Puerto Rico? The DNC convention?

I've let myself go to shit. They would be hard pressed to get me to meet weight standards, let alone a flight physical, and then there is the issue of drug use.
