I saw him perform with the Heartbreakers once in 2001. It was a great show. They sounded great and I acquired a newfound appreciation and respect for guitarist Mike Campbell.

This leaves Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne the only remaining members of the Traveling Wilburys.

I want Neil Young and Bob Dylan to both live forever, because not dying keeps them off the radio.

In '86 or '87, The Heartbreakers played a tour with Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead. When I saw this tour in Syracuse or Rochester,NY, some genius decided to put the Dead on first.

Great. Half the crowd left when they finished.

Tom and Bobby come out on stage to start the set. Bobby looks at the half-full stadium and goes ape shit. You could see him having a snit and he played a shitty show.

Tom looks out, smiles and shakes his head, no doubt listening to a torrent of "DON'T THEY KNOW WHO I AM?", and proceeded to play a great show. That's when i started to really like him.

But as Nick Cave so eloquently put, "The young ones, the old ones, we all gotta die."

The Dead deserve recognition as the worst band with the best concerts.

That honor already belongs to KISS.

Media is reporting that he died of a heart attack. That's not what "found in a state of cardiac arrest" means - it means he was already dead when they found him. There just wasn't a doctor around to rubber stamp it.
