quote [ For this special episode of Projections, we finally get our hands on Valve's prototype SteamVR "Knuckles" controllers! FOO VR's Will Smith stops by to give us a demo of this experimental interaction model and shows us what he's been working on at FOO and virtual reality TV shows. It's super cool! ]

Glad to see the price reduction. I think it needs to come down another $200 to be competitive though. Reason for another $100: Deluxe audio strap, and i assume they will probably release the knuckle controllers for at least $100. (wouldn't be surprised if its closer to $150)

I haven't used the DSA, but I've also not had any problems with the standard rig, so I'm biased in that aspect. But I think it's plenty competitive right now. Again, the lighthouse system is far superior to constellation and that's going to be made even more apparent as more lighthouse compatible equipment is released, including headsets and the pucks. I mean, even $150 for the knuckles would be a steal.

I just saw this, from Bruce Sterling. According to this, VR is just starting the climb out of the trough of disillusionment.
Big graph, so in a spoiler window. |

Always worth checking the SteamVR Performance Test just in case. ;)

Also, the HTC Vive just got a $200 price drop.
