Being poor and exhausted is worse than just being poor. But if you have kids, you got to feed them.

Very few people work 9 to 5 for no reason. We work because we have to earn a living.

As someone who has been a well paid office seat moistener, and currently working for myself, I have to say the amount of time I burned through achieving little but wearing out office furniture in various corporate and government roles is depressing to contemplate. That said, it did give me the nudge to finally do my own thing. I don't think I will be back working for the man again. And yes, some weeks I earn less so I can have more of things I value. Time being the main thing I value after I have had a feed and paid my bills.

I only work for the days that i don't have to.

I don't find this surprising, but then I don't think a person's purpose should be to work 9 to 5 for no reason either.
