Citroën Karin

quote [ Having no new models to reveal at the 1980 Paris Salon, Citroën stylist Trevor Fiore was given the go ahead to build a model (not a driveable car) for display.

The result was the trapezoidal Karin, clearly inspired by Michel Harmand's design for a GS Coupé. ]

My Dad has two Citroëns that have been sitting in his back yard for as long as I remember. Note quite as sweet as this beauty.

The early 70s Pallas in Return from Witch Mountain is still, in my opinion, the coolest Citroen, ever. Plus Bette Davis and Christopher Lee were super creepy/scary.

I've always been partial to the Type H.

Reminds me of the car from Harold and Maude.

My parents have had several 2CV's which at the time felt like an embarrassment. Being brought to school in them while other kids were brought in normal cars was like "yeah you can stop here mom. Yes I know it's still three streets away, just stop here!"

Now I'd love to drive one lol.

I remember one time we were in the car, and from the other side came another car which had a chair on its trailer. The chair wasn't attached very well, and flew off the trailer, straight into our car. The chair was alright, the car was a total loss.

The DS has always been my favorite. Still a beautiful car nowadays.

DS 122 FTW. I'd love to one day own the car that transported De Gaulle. (not that I'm a huge fan of the guy, just love the idea)

Seriously. These cars are elegant af.

Yeah, and also hugely groundbreaking. Something like 80 odd patents I seem to recall? Hubcaps, rotating headlights, pneumatic suspension among a shitload of other stuff

Does your Dad live in Larkspur/Marin?

You built an inertia engine... out of a Citroën?

The very young boy in me kind of wants to find a really big grasshopper and put it in this car while it is sitting in the sun.

It kinda reminds me of the cars in the UFO TV series. Gull-wing doors and all that.
