Bernie Sanders is no longer an unknown outsider with no party ties, no organization, or starting from behind

quote [ Sanders’s movement is becoming the Democratic Party ]

I'm betting he could get nominated. Should he run again or is he too old?

Even though Sanders has come to the aid of the ACA in its time of need it seems he is drawing the line in the sand for 2018

Sanders 'litmus test' alarms Democrats

Bernie Sanders' single-payer plan sparks fears of primary election challenges.

It really feels like the power has shifted inside the party. The organization, the drive is all on Sanders side. I think the elders felt the shift too but they have not fully came to terms with it. I just watched MTP Daily where they asked several Democratic elected official who was the head of the party they squirmed and humhawed and said... "many people are" because they know its Sanders and they can't bring themselves to say it.

Nobody in the party has the organization he does...our revolution is still growing and he has The most coveted things in Democratic politics ...His donor list from 2016... hell he is even writing a book

"Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) is writing a book for teens interested in progressive politics, called "Bernie Sanders Guide to Political Revolution."

The book, designed as a how-to guide for students eager to begin work as political activists, is out on August 29th"

Bernie Sanders writing teen guide to political revolution

If he runs I vote for him, but I don't know if I want him to or not...he has earned the right either way.

Bernie blew his wad in 2016. He's far too old. He would be 83 years old after his first term. And for better or worse he wears some of the blame for Hillary's loss, which would come back to haunt him.

I like Bernie and his platform (it's basically centrist Canadian), but the Democrats need someone new to coalesce around in 2020. I can see him coming along on the campaign tour, sort of as a 'candidate emeritus'.

Does he, though? It seems like refraining from rubbing their noses in the mess they made by nominating Clinton should get him rather a lot of credit.

Honest question. Without Hillary to abuse and hate on, would Sanders even had a chance?what did Sanders "revolution" really have besides being the "other?"

Sanders repackaged Obama with a twist to the far left or two. His policy record, like Obama 8 years ago, is a cunt hair different than HRC, but did nothing really to advance her campaign other than the obligatory "I'm with her." He still campaigned as though he were still in the race.

And no. I don't believe he stood a snowballs chance in hell of winning.

He needs to stay out of politics and infighting, and use his cachet on changing culture.

Haha Bernie Didn't repackage anything.

30 Years of Speeches by Bernie Sanders

If you could just fake sincerity you got it made...

So did Obama and occupy wall street make it mainstream? Bernie may have been making speeches at church groups in VT, but he wasn't recognized on a national stage until he started repeating his schtick on the coat tails of Obama? Hope? Yes we can? Grass roots level support, and trying to collar wall street and corporate greed? He just wasn't good at speech writing and speaking eloquently in public.
bbqkink said @ 8:58pm GMT on 8th Aug
Shut your eyes it is the same damn speech.
foobar said @ 9:05pm GMT on 8th Aug
That's an interesting question, but not really one to put to Sanders. He's just the only candidate that didn't step aside for Hillary's coronation.
C18H27NO3 said[1] @ 9:17pm GMT on 8th Aug
You mean like hillary stepped aside for Obama's coronation?

As I recall, she fought him beyond all reason.

Yeah, what he needs to do is to find someone that shares his ideals and conviction, no bs sort of politics and be that persons' god damn ad campaign for two years.

He was too old this past time around. But then, so were Clinton and Trump

With modern health care (which congress obviously has even if way too many of us don't) 83 is hardly too old to be after 4 years of being president...scale up many of our past presidents in terms of age versus life expectancy and youll see that though 79 is old, but it's not that far from where past presidents have been. I'm fine with him being president if he continues to be obviously in control of the greater majority of his faculties...I'd want him to pick someone similar but younger as VP though as a contingency either way though. This link has some interesting analysis in terms of age of presidents http://www.eldo.co/analysis-the-age--life-expectancy-of-us-presidential-candidates.html. Either way I hope he keeps advocating for a better future for everyone not just the wealthy.

I tell the same thing to my 75 year old mother, who is sharp as hell and she always points out that her younger sister went from similarly sharp at 55 to a vegetable at 58.

I just had to post this it took me completely off guard...It is from a Reddit post on Medicare for all .

It said...

"I identify on the center-left who believes we should make improvements to Obamacare instead of repealing it and replacing it with the garbage "small-government" GOP versions.

Although this is the case, we need to talk, and I believe Medicare For All is not the best solution for improving Obamacare. I want to conduct a live debate with someone who supports Single Payer on Roasted."

Well there was a comment that asked..."What improvements do you want to make? Why are you trying to debate someone about a single payer system? Who do you work for etc."

They went through a good long explanation
and answer ed the last part of the question with...

Who are you working for?

My husband got a blowjob in the late 90s in a room with no corners. That will give you an idea of who I am.

I almost drowned my self in ice tea laughing.

And the Republicans are helping all they can for 2018 just by being jerks.

Missouri GOP Killed St. Louis’ $10 Wage Floor. Now Activists Want A Statewide Vote On $12.
The state’s leadership could live to regret blocking cities from setting their own minimum wages.

That is how Claire McCaskill got elected in the first place ridding a Democratic wave in Missouri when they had a MW referendum on the ballot...Dem. votes were up 20%

Who knows it might help a lot of new faces get elected.
