I met Nakajima at Wonder Festival in 2014. He was such a sweet guy to me. I'm quite the Godzilla fan so meeting him is a high-point for me, and his death is a very sad occasion.

A few months ago I saw the 1954 original in Japanese with English subtitles. It's emotionally wrenching. For example, there's a scene with a mother, literally with her back against the wall, huddling with her kids. She says to them through her tears, "Don't worry children, we're going to see Daddy soon!" Then the building collapses on them. That whole thing was about the Japanese people's PTSD. As a kid seeing the Americanized version I just remember cool special effects of a guy in a rubber suit smashing model buildings.
