Mr. Christopher, as I knew him in the 80's, lived one neighborhood over from mine in Baton Rouge... his house had one of those weird lawns that go all the way to the rough. I'd ride my bike by his house as he mowed his weird-ass lawn and chatted with him from time to time. He was always impeccably friendly and gracefully kind (though sometimes concise) to me. I only have good things to say about my handful of exchanges with him.
