These fucking neoliberal idiots are a major part of why the world is having this Western shift towards populist right wing extremism. They promised booming global markets, and instead funneled the world's wealth to the already wealthy. Then the populist assholes used racism and xenophobia as scapegoats for the impoverished remainder, who lapped it up because the neoliberals promised that coming together with foreigners would help us all, but instead used it to fuck us all over. Now, don't get me wrong, the populist extremists are the greater threat, but the only reason they've been able to seize control is because the neoliberals created a system ripe for exploitation. And if that's not shortsightedness, I don't know what is.

And then, across the pond, you've got Macron repeating far-right talking points about universities teaching IslamoLeftism and in the UK Starmer saying "For too long Labour has failed to realise that the only way to deliver social justice and equality is through a strong partnership with business… Under my leadership, that mind-set will change."
So, neoliberalism is continuing to push forward into a nice Eco-Fascism right on schedule. Fun times ahead!
