I don't see why that's snake oil. This guy needs to get his shit in order. Living in a basement rented by your mom with no job and no belongings other than a mattress and a laptop is not a recipe for any kind of success. What he needed was a real parent - one that would have kicked his ass out in the world to make some kind of future for himself, either to school or a job or whatever. The only failing I see here is parenting - this guy has never had to leave the nest and only knows to eat whatever mommy brings back to vomit in his mouth. No wonder he's terrified of the world.
