The news here is hardly that Trump is racist or that he is willing to hang on the cross of immigration, that is his base and how he was elected.
The news is the deafening silence. Cotton and Perdue went so far as to lose all recollection of a conversation in the oval office only hours before but the overwhelming response from the GOP is ...Crickets.

The words used by the President, as related to me directly following the meeting by those in attendance, were not “tough,” they were abhorrent and repulsive.
